Statistics: Loss-making cos’ share in Russia falls to 31.2% Jan–Jun
MOSCOW, Aug 26 (PRIME) -- The share of loss-making companies in Russia fell by 1.2 percentage points on the year to 31.2% in January–June, the Federal State Statistic Service said in a statement Wednesday.
There were 37,200 organizations which received profit totaling 6.17 trillion rubles in the period, while 16,900 organizations received losses worth 901 billion rubles.
The share of loss-making firms in the processing industry fell by 3.1 percentage points to 28.8%; in production and distribution of electric power, gas and water decreased by 1.7 percentage points to 50.7%; in agriculture fell by 3.5 percentage points to 17.7%; in retail and wholesale trade went down 1.6 percentage points to 19.8.
The share of loss-making firms in construction rose by 1 percentage point to 30.8%, in real estate operations increased by 1.4 percentage points to 34% and in transport and communications went up 1.1 percentage point to 42.9%.
